Run a session

Start with context, then agree the information and decisions needed at each stage.

Choose the learning question

Define the decision you want learners to examine. It might concern stock, time or production capacity. Consider experience and group size so the scenario gives participants enough structure to reason without hiding the question behind complexity.

Agree the session format

Discuss the selected scenario, participant roles and the way the exercise will be facilitated. Clarify access, group-use arrangements and the material needed. Session timing and any applicable licence terms are confirmed directly.

Make and record decisions

Ask learners to state an assumption before changing a variable. Record the choice and what they expected to happen. The visible relationship between action and consequence makes the later discussion more useful than a result with no account of the reasoning.

Debrief and compare alternatives

Review which assumptions held, what surprised the group and what information was missing. Compare another choice using the same learning question. Separate simulated behaviour from evidence needed before a real business commitment.

Bring a decision worth exploring

Tell Udyamivo who will take part, which decisions they want to explore and the setting for the learning session.
